Erin Boutwell is a commercial lines Marketing Associate at Harmon Dennis Bradshaw. In 2017, Erin joined HDB as one of the rare millennials who began an early focus on an insurance career. Erin attended Troy University as a Leadership Scholar to get a leading risk management and insurance education. Campus and industry involvement helped Erin jumpstart her insurance experience while still in college. These experiences include serving the Georgia Surplus Lines Association as a Student Board Member, becoming a Charter Member/Officer of the Gamma Iota Sigma insurance fraternity at Troy University, and participating in various internship opportunities.
As an RMI student, she dedicated time to learn about the insurance industry in more ways than studying for exams. Erin was awarded several internship opportunities that provided invaluable experiences from various aspects of the industry. These internships led Erin countrywide to gain knowledge that would otherwise take years to develop. She participated in an internship program organized by the (WSIA) Wholesale & Specialty Insurance Association – formerly known as the National Association of Professional Surplus Lines Offices (NAPSLO). Upon completion, the program honored Erin as one of the top interns in the participating class.
Erin graduated Cum Laude from Troy University in 2015 earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Global Business with concentration in Risk Management and Insurance. Upon graduation, Erin moved to Atlanta, Georgia to begin her career as an Associate Broker with Worldwide Facilities, LLC – one of the top 10 largest property/casualty insurance wholesalers in the country. She spent two years traveling the country to meet independent insurance agents and offering solutions for their more complex risks. During this time, she developed a niche in Professional Liability Insurance and committed herself to the study of it. Erin holds the following professional designations from the Professional Liability Underwriting Society (PLUS): (RPLU) Registered Professional Lines Underwriter; Certificate in Errors & Omissions; Certificate in Medical Professional Liability; and a Certificate in Professional Liability.
In 2016, Erin married her now-husband, Trent Boutwell, who is also from her small hometown in Alabama. The couple relocated back home to Troy in 2017 with their two dachshunds, Oscar and Penny. So, the move home to Alabama prompted a new opportunity with HDB. Erin’s expertise in Professional Liability Insurance is put to good use, as non-profit and social services business are a couple of our specialties at HDB.
