Ashley joined Harmon Dennis Bradshaw in July of 2007 as our agency controller. Her insurance career began in 1996 as an entry-level clerk in the accounting department while she was attending college. With now 25 years’ experience in insurance accounting, she has an overwhelming understanding of the intricate workings of the industry’s processes.
She is a first-generation college graduate that obtained her bachelor’s degree in Accounting with an emphasis in internal auditing in 2004 from Auburn University Montgomery. In her role at HDB, Ashley manages all aspects of the agency accounting: coordinating collections and payments from both clients and carriers, financial statements, general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivables, and more.
Ashley is an active member of the management team. Her knowledge of our agency management system, strategic thinking, and insurance experience has established her as our agency’s lead reporting specialist. She has developed relationships that allow us to participate as early adaptors for new programming within our agency management system from our client portal to our proposal builder. She enjoys learning and appreciates the challenge of making something work that helps the overall efficiencies of the agency.
Ashley met her husband Michael in 1994 while they both attended college on softball/baseball scholarships. They married in 1996 and began their family in 1998. They are the proud parents of 3 children – Auston, Aleigha, and Chloe. Although it was tough being a full-time employee, mom of 3 little ones at the time, and a college student, Ashley continued to pursue her education and proudly walked across the stage 10 years after she started with her little family watching her.
Time away from the office is surrounded by family. She enjoys sporting events, road trips, hunting, and rainy days doing nothing. Music brings her joy and she mainly listens to classic rock and hair bands, but you will occasionally catch her jamming to simple tunes of country music or contemporary Christian, just depends on the mood. She prides herself on the old school principal that you are only as good as your word. Ashley’s happy place is at the beach with the warm sand, salty air, and sounds of the waves. She plans to retire to the beach after her working days are completed. †
